Burn tugged the spiny needles she'd received from some plant from her paw. She hadn't a clue what she'd wandered into, but now she knew why she liked to stick to the city rather than go rummaging around in the wild. She might've been a wolf, but she was a civilised wolf. She was one of the Changed. Her place was in the city, in a station of power, like the humans had been before her.
Oh, she'd heard great things about the Humans. Two hundred years had passed since one had walked these streets, but she'd heard that they were a great race - ugly, furless, two-legged things like birds without wings or something similar to that, but great. They'd created everything around Burn; they'd made the streets, the buildings, the things within the buildings. They'd created the shiny, clear stone that Burn was resting under and the regular-shaped rocks that rested to either side of her.
Burn looked up at the clear stone. She'd heard from one that heard from another that this material was called Glass, and that it was made by melting sand and moulding it to shape. Burn didn't know how brown-grey sand could create a clear stone, but she knew that she wanted to try it for herself one of these days. She would probably have to wait until the very last second of reserving her power, until just before she could feel her lungs and heart burning, and she'd throw out all her energy at sand and create Glass.
She'd be the first wolf ever to create Glass.
The thought made Burn giddy, and she started tugging at the spines in her paw anew, this time with laughter on her lips.

faux
cause its completely up to us to maintain consciousness

A grunt left the wolf's lips as she leaped onto a remarkably large bit of rubble, causing smaller bits to come flying off and down. Faux was bored. There were no wolves in sight, scent, or hear, and she was beginning to get irritated. In all honesty, shouldn't there be more wolves? More superior wolves? More wonderful, power-hungry wolves?
Shouldn't you be nicer? Piss off. Multi-colored eyes, one red and one blue, flickered about the area. Just her luck; nothing but dirt. What was the world coming to? Had the wolf population died out without her knowing? Poor little bastards. Maybe she'd find some old coyote and reproduce. Pffft. Droid 1 online. Suddenly the wolf on the rubble seemed to split into two; and instead of one wolf, there was another - an exact duplicate, complete with split pelt and eyes. Smirking, Faux glanced at the duplicate before scaling the wall to her left. She left it in a cloud of dust. Droid 1 blinked blankly, looking around. Finally it seemed to decide on a direction, and scampered down the rubble and went right, the opposite way Faux had went. Nose twitching, it padded quietly about, dark red and icy blue working together to find what Faux had wanted it to find - a victim.Meanwhile, Faux was on her own search. Split-color tail raising slightly in excitement, she quietly galloped along the wall, before leaping down and landing neatly on the ground, gaze scanning the area. Must be somewhere here somewhere. And then, suddenly, a scent. Blinking, the black and white she-wolf lifted her nose to the heavens. Indeed, she'd caught something. A female, to be precise. Mentally, she ordered the droid to meet her at the general area the female seemed to be, and set off on a trek. Leaping over debris and swerving around holes, she finally managed to see clear rock in the distance, the sun glinting off of it sharply. Grimacing, Faux leaped off the path to get even lower, at about the same level the other female seemed to be. Now she could see her. A black wolf, similar to Faux, but she was covered in scars. What on earth...? Was this wolf a fighter? An almost arrogant smirk found its way to the she-wolf's lips as she made her way closer. "Hello," she said, "and who on earth might you be?" There was a definite edge to her tone; almost sultry. There was only one thing running through the droid's mind: Find master. The duplicate scurried across the debris, cutting across until it reached the clear rock and Faux, along with the other she-wolf. After a few moments, it glanced at the unknown wolf, before merging with the true Faux. Droid 1 offline. Seeing and sensing the droid merging into her once more, Faux flashed the other wolf a grin, wondering what she would think of what she'd just seen. Burn looked up from her task. Pulling out needles from her paw was not nearly as interesting as this - a wolf completely split in two, and both those splits also split - in the second case, it was in colour. She'd seen a lot of strangely coloured canines in her life as a traveling Lunarian - bright blues, green, striped like a tiger - but these were the first she'd seen that were so... symmetrical.
Burn was momentarily stunned when one copy of the wolf seemed to melt into the other, resulting in just a single canine standing there in front of her. Things were certainly getting curiouser around this city - more Changed Ones were slipping out of the woodwork.
"The Bright One bless me," Burn whispered.
Her voice was soft, almost cracked when it raised in volume, and she tended to slip into a breathless sort of sing-song quality when she ended a sentence. The combination of the tones made her sound weak and fragile, which counteracted rather glaringly with her not-so-fragile appearance.
"Another one Changed," the scarred black she-wolf was saying, "I haven't seen such a thing in months, and those were not nearly as... flamboyant as you. Most tend to keep it to themselves." She snarled a wolfish smile, revealing bright white teeth that also didn't match in with her looks. "I always find them, though. They're the ones I need to talk to. They're the Bright One's Chosen - they should follow her, always. The ones that don't, should follow her, and the Changed should be the first in line."
By the end, she was mostly speaking to herself, rambling about Luna the Moon Goddess and smiling periodically for no apparent reason.
It took her a while, but Burn finally realised that the other wolfess had asked her a question. With a spark of lucidity, she peered back at her with mis-matched eyes.
"I am Burn," she intoned, "Devoted follower and enforcer of the Bright One."

Chaos stood on the top of the dome of the town hall and stared down at the females, silently talking to each other, through a hole in the ceiling. He was itching for a fight but he didn't expect females. He snarled silently. He paced from side to side and thought of jumping down into the dark space. Doesn't matter.. He thought, I'll heal later if i break something. He jumped into the hole and landed with a thump a few feet away from the wolves. The females look up at him surprised and curious. Chaos pulled his lips over his teeth, showing a display of his huge white canines. A loud snarl ripped from his throat making the females tense. ''talented bunch aren't we?''. He said studying the black female wolf covered in scars and then nodding at the split furred one. He had guessed that the black furred one was strong by looking at her and the split furred one was able to duplicate herself by watching. Another snarl ripped from his throat -he couldn't wait to get started.
He walked closer to them, back arched and teeth bared. His eyes flashed red and he threw himself at the black scard wolf snapping and growling. He caught her hind leg in his strong jaws and bit down hard. Warm blood dripped over his snout and the smell made his eyes turn bright red with excitement. He let go of her and backed up, licking the blood off, with his back arched and teeth still bared.[/sup]
