These are all the rules involved in claiming packs, joining packs, and how the packs are organised. "Packs" is used as a general term sometimes, though the canines of ABF use both "packs" and "clans." These rules are subject to change as I see fit.
The hierarchy systems for Chaotic and Ancestral wolves can be found under "Chaotic/Ancestral/Impartial Roles Explained" and Impartial wolves - as stated, also, on that page - can invent a new hierarchy/rules system for packs or adopt one from either Chaotic or Ancestral systems.
All claimable territory is free-reign until a canine claims it. This means that you can roleplay on a "pack" or "clan" thread without worrying about it until someone comes along to claim it.
Claiming a territory must be done in roleplay format, with the word "Claim" somewhere in the thread title, and the post must be more than 300 words. Bonus points are given if you already have other canines ready to join the pack and you're all just looking for good land.
When you claim the territory, provide a name in the "Claiming Post" that I can put under "Territory Pack/Clan." When you see your pack or clan's title under this, you may start welcoming or rejecting whomever you like.
You can name your pack whatever you want. And, when you do name your pack, make sure to make a new thread containing the full hierarchy format of either the Chaotics, Ancestrals, or an original Impartial form, and list all the positions of each member of your pack so everything is clear. I will come by and sticky it, and you can edit it whenever you get new members.
How you accept members is up to you. Some require a fight between the leader and the inductee, others require that an already-established packmember must vouch for the hopeful packmember, and others simply require a sign of submission to the higher-ranking canines. It's entirely up to you how you do it.
Impartial packs can have non-Impartial members, and Impartial canines can join either Chaotic or Ancestral packs and still retain their "Impartial" viewpoints, but Chaotics can't join Ancestrals and vice-versa. Mixing up Impartials with non-Impartials is a good way to get fights started in roleplays, which make for good drama, which makes for good fun. (:
Packs can take prisoners. If an enemy canine - regardless of whether they are Impartial, Chaotic, or Ancestral - wanders into pack territory, it is legal for them to be taken as prisoners for ransoms of various things - a day of hunting on the prisoner's pack territory or just food, for example.
